WHISPERING WOOD SCULPTURES

Hand carved from Western Australian Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) renowned for its versatility, its durability and strength.
This piece is carved from a very mature dense Jarrah. The wood itself is hundreds of years old, grown in the ancient endemic Jarrah forests and found in its naturally seasoned state on the forest floor. The surface of this sturdy and evocative piece is polished up to a deep dark chocolate brown, almost ebony in character. The character exudes an overall feeling of strength resolve and nobility.
Aja is an Orisha, ( part of the belief system practiced mostly in southern Nigeria and togo) she is the spirit of the forest, the animals within it and herbal healers. She is a patron of the forest and all the animals within it. She holds the secrets of botany, and is a master of potions and healing herbs. She passed this skill to the Yoruban people, who practice her craft to this very day. The Orisha spirits sent by higher divinitiesfor the guidance of all creation and of humanity in particular, on how to live and be successful on Ayé (Earth).
