WHISPERING WOOD SCULPTURES

Astrape, goddess of thunder and lightning is a figurated manifestation of the forces that began the work on this wood before the artists hand revealed its form. 

 

Hand carved from Partially petrified Western Australian Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) renowned for its versatility, its durability and strength and rich array of deep reds golds and browns.

 

Nature hewn surface hand carved with highly smoothed and sensual polished finishes. 

 

The wood itself is hundreds of years old, grown in the ancient endemic Jarrah forests and found in its naturally seasoned state on the forest floor.

 

Mounted on a circular steel base.
